A Legacy of Craftsmanship

The Glencolmcille Woollen Mill is a family-run business rooted in the scenic beauty of Co. Donegal. Its journey began in the late 1970s when a single knitting machine set the foundation for what would become a celebrated name in Irish knitwear. By 1985, siblings John, Michael, Pauline, and Sarah McNelis, guided by their mother Mary, established Rossan Knitwear, crafting designs that blended the traditional aran stitch with evolving fashion trends. Over the decades, the mill has grown into a thriving enterprise, introducing contemporary styles while staying true to its heritage.

Today, the third generation of the Rossan family carries forward this proud legacy. Located along the Wild Atlantic Way, the Glencolmcille Woollen Mill store showcases their handcrafted creations alongside other Irish brands, continuing their commitment to quality and tradition.
